Beverly Nault is an award-winning screenwriter, producer, and book author. Her feature script, "Better Angels" (FKA Perfect Misfits) is in the very capable hands of multi-Emmy Award-winning director Paul A. Kaufman now searching for a production home for the story of those crazy foster kids. Stay tuned for coming announcments about the misfits. AHHH!! (Sorry, so exciting.) She’s Executive Producer of the feature documentary "My Life Between the Reins” because she thought ahead and brought a wagon for all the photog equipment, crew for “Life Interrupted, the Cancer Series” where she turned the AC on and off like a boss during takes (filmmaking geeks understand that one), and “Running on Faith,” a documentary about rising star, barrel racer, Faith Hudson, who has more award saddles than any 17-year-old girl could ride in a month of Sundays. Oh, and Bev learned how to slate on that shoot. It’s all in the wrist.
Bev has written, co-written, or consulted on dozens of screenplays, some are good and some are coasters. A recovering novelist, she began learning screenplay writing in 2019 and claims it's the most challenging style of writing on planet earth, except maybe for the computer software manuals she used to write which are real page turners.
A multi-published author of fiction and non-fiction books, and a freelance editor, Bev worked as a first reader for a literary agency breaking hearts of aspiring writers, and as an acquisitions editor for the acclaimed literary journal, Eastern Iowa Review which exposed her to some folks who can write really good, y'all.
A memoir she co-wrote with Mary McDonough (Erin on "The Waltons") “Lessons from the Mountain, My Life as Erin Walton," (Kensington) has gone into five printings, and interviewing all the Waltons cast members and the writer, Earl Hamner, was a highlight of her career. And no, she can’t tell you any deep dark secrets about John-Boy because he’s just as nice as he seems. Hats off, Richard Thomas. Okay, enough name dropping.
Bev’s married to Gary, her high school sweetheart and it’s been mostly a good ride. They have, thanks to the Air Force and his career in aerospace, lived on two continents and seven states. After their kids finally married and moved out, they lived in a 32’ motorhome and travled 50,000 miles, and they’re still married, y’all! Bev grew up showing hunter-jumpers in Texas, attended Texas A&M with her horse (no, the horse did not go to class, but that would be so cool, right?), then she studied all things equine in a British Horse Society recognized stables in England (thanks to the Air Force for an assignment to an A-10 base) where she excelled in mimicking their accents (do NOT make fun of how the Queen carries a purse. Just don’t) while earning her first levels in the British Horse Society exams in eventing, jumping, dressage, and equine husbandry. It was a true test when the AF moved Gary out of England before she had completed the entire BHS course, but you know. Marriage vows and all. Bev also dabbles in photography, tennis, loves to travel, and majors in spoiling her four granddaughters.
