Reynolds Ranch Retreat Center sits on 40 acres in Vernon, Arizona, tucked into the White Mountains about 30 minutes from Show Low. It's a working retreat center built for the kind of creative work that can't happen at a desk — filmmakers developing projects, writers chasing deadlines, musicians writing albums, comedians workshopping material, and teams who need real space to think together.

Let's start with the practical stuff, because creative retreats require logistics and logistics require clarity.
How many people can stay at Reynolds Ranch?
The Ranch accommodates up to 13 overnight guests comfortably. Our maximum event capacity is 20 people, so if you're hosting a daytime workshop or gathering with some attendees who aren't staying overnight, there's room for that. But for sleeping arrangements, 13 is the sweet spot — enough for a real creative cohort, intimate enough for real collaboration.
Is the entire facility private to our group?
Yes. When you book Reynolds Ranch, you have the entire property. All 40 acres, all gathering spaces, the lodge, the pond, the trails — yours. No other groups, no shared common areas with strangers. This privacy is one of the things that makes the Ranch so powerful for creative work. You can be loud, weird, experimental, and fully present without any outside interference.
Is there a minimum stay requirement or minimum group size?
There is no minimum stay requirement — though most groups find that two to three nights gives them the time to settle in, do the work, and actually decompress before heading back. There is no minimum group size either. Solo retreats, duos, small teams — all welcome.
Food, Meals & The Commercial Kitchen
Are meals provided?
This depends on which package you choose. Some packages include a catering option — and yes, the caterer can accommodate dietary needs including vegan, gluten-free, and other requirements. If you'd prefer to bring your own food specialist, private chef, or handle meals yourselves, that's completely an option too. The Ranch has a full commercial kitchen with a pizza oven, so you have real infrastructure to work with either way.
Pricing, Packages & What's Included
How does pricing work?
For retreats hosted by Reynolds Ranch, pricing is a flat rate per person. If you're renting the facility for your own retreat or production, it's a flat rate for the entire property — which varies by package. We offer multiple package options depending on your group's needs and the level of support you want on-site.
Are there additional fees — cleaning, security deposit, etc.?
These are folded into the packaged rates. No surprise line items at checkout. What you see is what you pay.
What's the cancellation policy?
You must contact us at least 30 days in advance to cancel a reservation. We ask for this lead time so we can open the dates for other groups and keep things running smoothly for everyone.
Amenities, Connectivity & Comfort
Is there Wi-Fi and cell service?
Yes to both. We know some groups come specifically for a digital detox — and the option to disconnect is absolutely there. But for those who need connectivity for work, virtual collaboration, or production purposes, you'll have access. The Ranch is also equipped with a workstation featuring a charging USB board.
What about heating, air conditioning, and fireplaces?
The lodge has central air and heating throughout. There are also wood-burning fireplaces in three separate locations on the property — and wood is provided. If you've never had a story development session or a writing sprint next to a wood-burning fire in the mountains, you're in for something.
Can we rearrange the space to suit our program?
Yes. The Ranch is designed to adapt to your needs — not the other way around. Whether you need a circle for a writing workshop, a screening setup, a movement space, or a presentation layout, the furniture can be rearranged to make it work.
Is there presentation equipment?
The Ranch doesn't currently provide projectors or whiteboards, so plan to bring your own if your program requires them. The workstation with USB charging is available for tech needs.
Are linens, toiletries, and other essentials included?

Getting There & Getting Around
Where exactly is Reynolds Ranch?
Reynolds Ranch is located in Vernon, Arizona — a small mountain community in the White Mountains, about 30 minutes from Show Low and Pinetop-Lakeside. Show Low has a regional airport, grocery stores, hospitals, and most essential services. Pinetop-Lakeside is equally accessible and offers its own shopping, restaurants, and amenities. Detailed directions to the property are provided to hosts upon booking.
Is there parking on-site?
Plenty. The Ranch is designed to accommodate groups arriving by car, and parking is not something you'll need to think about.
Is the facility accessible for guests with mobility challenges?
We're working on expanding accessibility information — reach out directly to discuss your group's specific needs and we'll do our best to make sure every guest can participate fully.
The White Mountains: Climate, Seasons & What to Expect
"While most places have four seasons, we like to joke that we have five. The fifth is monsoon season."
The White Mountains offer something genuinely rare in Arizona: real seasons. Winters bring snowfall and fireplace weather. Spring is all wildflowers and warming trails. Summer stays cool at elevation — a dramatic contrast to the desert heat below. Fall brings the kind of golden light that cinematographers dream about.
The fifth season is monsoon — running roughly from late June through mid-September. During this period, afternoon and evening thunderstorms are common. Outdoor activities may need to shift to morning hours or be swapped for indoor programming during peak monsoon days. It's dramatic weather, and honestly? It's beautiful to witness from inside the lodge.
Pack layers regardless of season. Mountain temperatures shift fast, especially after sunset.
Wildlife, Outdoor Activities & the Natural Setting
What wildlife might we encounter?
The Ranch sits in genuine Arizona wilderness, and the wildlife reflects that. You'll very likely see elk, deer, coyotes, rabbits, squirrels, and raccoons — the kind of encounters that make for great stories and even better Instagram posts. Snakes are present in warmer months, and bear sightings, while rare, do occur. Standard wilderness awareness applies: don't leave food out, be aware of your surroundings on trails, and enjoy the wildness from a respectful distance.
What outdoor activities are available?
The Ranch offers kayaking on the seasonal spring-fed pond, ATV trails, hiking through the surrounding wilderness, stargazing around the fire pit, and morning reflection walks on the circular trail. For guided local experiences — wilderness tours, fishing, and more — the Ranch is connected to a network of local practitioners and guides.
What about the night sky?
Reynolds Ranch sits far enough from city light that the dark skies here are extraordinary. The Milky Way is visible on clear nights. It's the kind of thing that shifts perspective in a way that's hard to articulate until you're standing under it.
Policies Worth Knowing
What are the quiet hours?
Quiet hours run from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. This protects the rest and restoration that makes retreats actually work — for your group and for the natural environment around you.
What's the alcohol policy?
Alcohol is not permitted on the grounds.
What about smoking?
Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are not allowed at the Ranch, with the exception of certified service animals.
Is there first aid on-site?
Yes, there is a first aid kit on the property. The nearest emergency services are located in Show Low, approximately 30 minutes away. There is not currently an AED on-site.
On-Site Support & Practitioner Access
Is there a property manager on-site during our stay?
On-site management is included with the Pine Package and Elk Package. With other packages, guests have direct contact with the property manager for any issues that arise. Someone is always reachable.
Can you connect us with local practitioners — massage therapists, guides, coaches?
Absolutely. The Ranch maintains a curated list of local practitioners and vendors — wellness providers, wilderness guides, artisans, and more — who are familiar with the property and its guests. This is one of the things that makes Reynolds Ranch feel like a genuine community, not just a rental.
Do you offer team-building activities?
